Supreme Court Hearing Update

Victorian Supreme Court Decision – December 20th 2023

The MCHPA, trading as the Regional Victoria Power Alliance took action against the Victorian State Government to the Victorian Supreme Court who have today ruled in favour of the Government.

The Alliance is disappointed with the outcome today, but we respect the court’s decision. This legal action was one of many actions the Alliance is taking to stop or dramatically alter the proposed high-voltage transmission line projects.

The impacts and risks associated with these projects remain very real. To spite many thousands of community members voicing their concerns over the past three plus years, the projects remain mostly unchanged and as such present an intolerable level of impact and risk. These high-voltage transmission line projects remain highly impactful, bringing with them an extreme level of negative impact to our communities, our environment, our business and our food production.

We know, as do the project proponents, AEMO and the Victorian State Government that there are far less impactful and superior ways to achieve the transition to renewables.
